Edouard Mendy was brought in by Chelsea this summer to replace Kepa, who has had a stinking run of form.
But today it was the new signing who almost cost his team the game. After a first 30 minutes where almost nothing happened, the goalkeeper played a pass across his goal mouth at such an angle that it almost went in – and ended up out for a corner.
The driving rain is an excuse, but it’s the last thing we wanted to see after 12 months of Kepa disasters.
