Six Man Utd and Chelsea players who have points to prove in Old Trafford showdown

It’s the headline fixture of the Premier League weekend, with Manchester United welcoming fellow top-four hopefuls Chelsea to Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

United beat Chelsea 4-0 in the corresponding fixture last season – which took place on the opening weekend of what turned out to be a protracted 2019/2020 campaign and was Blues manager Frank Lampard’s first game in charge.

The Reds go into the match having recorded a memorable midweek 2-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, while Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Sevilla in the same competition.

United – who are yet to win at home this season – were thrashed 6-1 by Tottenham Hotspur in their last league game at Old Trafford, while Chelsea’s away record is not too great, having conceded 42 away goals in the top flight since the start of last season, more than any other club.
