Chelsea morning headlines as key to Declan Rice transfer highlighted with Blues still keen

Lampard message to goalkeepers

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has appeared to send a message to Kepa Arrizabalaga when praising the performance of Edouard Mendy.

The Senegalese goalkeeper impressed in Saturday’s scoreless draw at Manchester United with a series of impressive saves.

However, Lampard’s message after the game by saying “you rely on them” for goalkeepers could be aimed at Kepa, who has lost prominence at the club.

“We brought him in for his quality. He showed great composure in the games he’s played already and with the saves today in a tight game you rely on them moments.”
