Chelsea strolled their way to their first UEFA Champions League victory of the season on Wednesday night with a comfortable 4-0 away win over Russian side FC Krasnodar.
After missing a penalty through Italian midfield ace Jorginho after just 14 minutes, some fans could have been forgiven for wondering if it was going to be one of those nights when lady luck was not shining on the Blues.
However, any fears were soon put to bed eight minutes before half time when some poor goalkeeping from Krasnodar’s Matvey Safonov allowed Callum Hudson Odoi’s effort to find a way to goal.
The Blues increased their pressure after the break and scored a further three times inside the final 15 minutes through Timo Werner, who netted from the penalty spot, Hakim Ziyech, who scored his first for the club, and substitute Christian Pulisic.
