Certain transfer sagas just have that feel of when, and not if they will happen, and that is certainly the case for the Declan Rice to Chelsea story.
It seems destined to happen, and the rumours have been bubbling up once again this week after The Athletic ran a report of Frank Lampard’s desire to conclude the signing in January.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has backed this up on his Here We Go Podcast today.
He explained that Chelsea will definitely go back in for Rice, and the transfer has a good chance of happening due to the player wanting the move.
Romano also states that Rice WILL agree personal terms with Chelsea prior to the deal being completed, so there will be no complications there.
Chelsea will move again for Declan Rice in January, the player still wants the move and terms will be agreed with him.

He is a player who Lampard really wants, which is why Chelsea did not sign a different holding midfielder during the summer – he is waiting for his main target.
