Kepa returns, Jorginho’s role, duo missing – Four things spotted in Chelsea training session

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday evening when they entertain Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard’s side take on a Blades outfit without a win so far this season as they seek to avenge the 3-0 loss at Bramall Lane when the teams last met towards the end of the 2019/2020 campaign.

It’s the last fixture before the league pauses for a two-week break and Chelsea could end the weekend in second place if results go in their favour.

But before the final international break of 2020, the Blues squad took part in a training session at Cobham on Friday afternoon ahead of the Sheffield United clash.

And there has been media footage released to get fans in the mood.

Here’s what we spotted from the training pictures and what it tells us ahead of the game against the Blades on Saturday evening.

Kepa returns

After three games out with a shoulder injury, Kepa Arrizabalga is back for Chelsea.

The much criticised goalkeeper trained alongside Edouard Mendy and Willy Caballero on Friday and his shoulder appeared to be fine as he dived to make a full-stretch save.

Earlier in the day, Lampard confirmed the Spaniard would be in the matchday squad against the Blades.

“Yeah Kepa has recovered, he’s still getting a slight bit of pain but he’s in the squad for tomorrow,” Lampard confirmed in his pre-match press conference.

With that said, Kepa is unlikely to get the nod over Mendy.

The Chelsea fans’ Player of the Month for October has virtually been unbeatable in between the sticks so far as he’s yet to concede in the Premier League.
