Hakim Ziyech’s ultimate transfer dream revealed – and it was not Chelsea

Hakim Ziyech has enjoyed a stunning start to his Chelsea career.

The attacking midfielder was the first of seven major signings made by the Blues in the summer transfer window, but had to wait until October to make his competitive debut for the club.

And Ziyech has quickly made up for lost time to already become a key player for Chelsea under head coach Frank Lampard.

After three substitute appearances against Southampton, Sevilla, and Manchester United, the 27-year-old was handed his first Chelsea start in the Champions League clash away at Krasnodar.

In true Ziyech fashion, he marked his full debut with a goal and followed that up with his first Premier League goal on his first start in the competition against Burnley a few days later.

But arguably his most impressive display to date for the west London outfit came in the 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday evening.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Ziyech produced a creative masterclass at Stamford Bridge as he claimed two assists for Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva.

Furthermore, he created a total of six chances for his teammates and was responsible for an outrageous piece of skill that sent a number of Blues fans crazy.

However, Chelsea can count themselves a little fortunate to have signed Ziyech in the summer.

This is because eagle-eyed fans on social media found an old video of the attacking midfielder taking part in a Q&A with former teammate Justin Kluivert, where he revealed that it was his ‘dream’ to play for Arsenal.

Asked which club he’d like to play for in the future, he responded: “Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona.

“That is my ultimate dream.”
