Things are going rather well for Chelsea currently, with the new signings bedding in and gelling nicely together.
All of Frank Lampard’s summer signings can stand up and say they have made a positive impact on the team so far, and they have all been involved in a decent run of form in recent matches.
Lampard would have liked to be continuing with Premier League football this weekend with the momentum he has built up recently, but they will have to wait until after the international break in order to carry on this run.
The Blues have massively shored up at the back, and a lot of that is due to centre back Thiago Silva, who joined on a free this summer.
The veteran defender has been more than impressive in his first spell in the Premier League, and he’s been enjoying it so much he is already talking about extending his contract that runs out at the end of this season.
Thiago Silva: “I have learned in [a lot of different competitions] and I use it to help young players. This is my first experience in the Premier League. I hope to continue to play well and that my contract will be renewed.” (chelseafc) #CFC
Extend his contract now @ChelseaFC.
