Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has praised the impact of summer arrivals Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, backing them to help the club become a strong force in the Premier League this season.
The pair have registered ten goal contributions between them in eight league matches, helping the Blues to victory in their last four games in all competitions.
Ziyech has been highly impressive since joining from Ajax over the summer, and assisted Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva during Chelsea ‘s 4-1 win against Sheffield United before the international break.
Fabregas told 90min that he believes the 27-year-old can be a hugely important player for Frank Lampard ‘s side this season due to his strong mentality and decision-making skills.

When paired with the raw pace and running ability of Werner, the Spaniard says Chelsea carry a ‘powerful’ attacking threat.
“He has this vision that you need in a top team like Chelsea who wants to win and be champions,” he said.
“‘It’s true that they were a team a little bit lacking ideas in the last season and maybe at the beginning of this season.
“‘But yeah, with Ziyech, you can see that he has this last pass and it’s not only that he sees it, it’s that he makes it right and at the right time.
“This is the decision-making we talk about nowadays. Why are coaches so tactical? Because they see that the decision-making of the players is not that good so they need to teach them always what to do.
“You know, before, I believe coaches were not so much on top of the player because they felt maybe that there wasn’t so much need because they felt maybe that there wasn’t so much need because already the players sort it by themselves.
