It has been a real debate over the last few weeks, whether Premier League clubs should be allowed to use 5 subs per match.
The current rule is 3 only, but when football first returned last season after the first coronavirus lockdown, clubs were allowed 5 subs due to the circumstances.

This went down well with many clubs, and many are advocating for the rule to come back in to place permanently.
Frank Lampard is one of those who backs the rule change, and claims that England are behind by being one of the only countries in Europe where they can still only make 3 subs per match.
“I don’t want anyone to cry their eyes out for players because we know how lucky we are, but everywhere else in Europe has five subs and we don’t.”
