Relief for Chelsea fans as Timo Werner returns to training
Timo Werner trained alongside his Chelsea team-mates yesterday, prompting relief among the fanbase after he was conspicuous by his absence on Thursday following international duty.
It’s expected that the Germany international will line feature in attack for Frank Lampard’s Blues in today’s early afternoon kick-off away to Newcastle.
The 24-year-old is in strong from, having scored 10 goals from his last 10 appearances for club and country, although his last appearance came in Germany’s shock 6-0 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, Lampard is expected to be without Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz later today, while Christian Pulisic remains out with a hamstring injury.

The hands-on role Marina Granovskaia played in recent Victor Moses deal
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia spoke personally with Victor Moses to help convince him to join Russian giants Spartak Moscow on loan.
Having originally joined the Blues in 2012, this is the 29-year-old winger’s sixth loan away from Stamford Bridge, although he had previously broken through to play an influential role in the 2016/17 Premier League title won under Antonio Conte.
He’s made four appearances for the club so far this season, scoring one goal.
“Football people helped us make this transfer,” Spartak’s general director Shamil Gazizov revealed, speaking on Nobel Arustamyan’s Youtube channel.
“But my communication with Granovskaia went directly. We discussed all the details with her.
“She helped us convince Moses. Many thanks to her, she played a big role here. She helped Spartak. And I thank her again for that.
