Chelsea star lined up as January target for David Beckham’s Inter Miami

Olivier Giroud’s desire for more first-team football in order to keep his place in Didier Deschamps’ France squad could take him to MLS and David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

The Mirror report that the veteran striker is a target for the Florida franchise after falling to third-choice under Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

The summer arrival of Timo Werner and continued development of Tammy Abraham means Giroud is firmly on the periphery in west London having played just 36 Premier League minutes this season, including three off the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Newcastle.

Earlier this month, football.london reported that the France international is open to moving on in the new year due to concerns over his international future with Les Bleus.

Giroud is just eight goals away from beating Thierry Henry’s all-time record for France and has the European Championships on the horizon next summer however it’s been made clear that if he’s not playing, it’ll be hard for Deschamps to consider him for selection.

Giroud enjoyed an excellent second half of the season at Chelsea, having signed from Arsenal in 2018, but cannot force his way back into the XI and his situation appears heading to an inevitable conclusion.
