Chelsea bolstered by double return for Rennes clash – but Christian Pulisic will miss out

Chelsea are set to be bolstered by a double return to the squad ahead of their Champions League game – but they face a longer wait for Christian Pulisic.

The Blues will return to European action when they face Rennes on their own turf, looking to make it nine consecutive games unbeaten.

Frank Lampard’s latest victory saw the London side beat Newcastle 2-0 at St James’ Park, thanks to an own goal and Tammy Abraham strike.

But he confirmed that Chelsea are set for a double boost in the hopes of maintaining their high-flying form.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the boss said: “Kai and Thiago will both travel and are fit to play.”
