Liverpool star Andy Robertson expects the Premier League title race to be much tighter this season – and has named Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea as potential challengers.
The Reds romped to their first league crown in 30 years last term – finishing 17 points clear of closest challengers Manchester City.
And Jurgen Klopp’s men were a whopping 33 points ahead of third-placed Manchester United.
After nine games of the 2020/21 campaign, Liverpool are second in the table – just behind leaders Spurs on goal difference.

Chelsea and Leicester City are a couple of points further back, while both Manchester clubs have had mixed starts.
Liverpool have been hampered by injuries to the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago Alcantara, while Mohamed Salah is currently sidelined after testing positive for Coivid-19.
The Reds made light of those issues on Sunday as they swept aside Leicester City 3-0 at Anfield in a dominant display.
However, before the game, Robertson sounded a note of caution.
“We don’t set ourselves a points total but it would be lovely to get 99 again (like last season),” he told Sky Sports.
“But I do think this season will be a lot tighter.
“I think teams have improved. You see Tottenham, you see Leicester, you see Chelsea – they have all improved so much.”
This year has been a tough one for many of us due to the coronavirus pandemic – though it has contained some really positive moments for Robertson on a professional level.
