Thiago Silva and Chelsea ‘in talks’ to extend defender’s contract after strong start

Chelsea star Thiago Silva is said to ready to extend his deal in west London.

The veteran defender, 36, joined the Blues on a free this summer, penning a one-year contract following his PSG exit.

However, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb report Silva is already in talks to sign a one-year extension after hitting the ground running at Stamford Bridge.

Silva has told the club of his desire to stay and discussions could accelerate in the coming days.

The defender is already a good leader in Frank Lampard’s dressing room and has helped shore up Chelsea’s backline, with the club keen to keep hold for another year.
