Kane one of the world’s best – Lampard
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is ‘one of the best in world football’ ahead of Sunday’s meeting between the two sides at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are aiming to leapfrog Spurs in the Premier League table with the north Londoners currently two points ahead after nine games.
And Lampard feels stopping Kane will be key to Chelsea’s success with the England captain having managed seven goals and nine assists already this season.
“Firstly, the queries of Harry Kane are incredible and no matter who is managing him, the player Harry Kane is one of the best in world football,” Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.

“He is someone who can play as an out and out nine or drop off, now he is developing in his own way as he matures as a player. He is a really impressive player, I have got no doubts about that.
“I have got a huge amount of respect for Harry Kane and around him now, he has got a very solid team, squad, good players around him, players that want to run around him if he wants to come short.
“He is a very intelligent player, he has got a very good coach and that is why they are in a strong position. As a coach, you rely on top players to perform. At the minute, Harry Kane is an example of a player in a sweet spot in top football.”
Spurs still interested in Giroud
Tottenham retain an interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud after holding talks with the Frenchman in January, according to Football Insider.
Per the report, Spurs are expected to be one of several clubs vying for Giroud’s signature when the January window opens.
