Chelsea fans have been giving their reaction to the confirmed team news for Sunday’s Premier League crunch clash with Tottenham.
Blues boss Frank Lampard has made three changes to the side that started the midweek Champions League victory in Rennes.
Reece James comes in for Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back, N’Golo Kante gets the nod ahead of Jorginho in midfield, and Hakim Ziyech is preferred to Callum Hudson-Odoi in attack.
Christian Pulisic returns to the squad for first time this month following injury, and is named among the Chelsea substitutes.
Lampard got two wins in the league last season over Jose Mourinho’s side, playing with a 3-4-3 formation.
However, on this occasion, he has stuck with his preferred four in defence, with Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma the centre-back pairing.
Kai Havertz has to settle for a place on the bench, with Mateo Kovacic keeping his place in the side, alongside Mason Mount and the recalled Kante.
Ziyech, rested against Rennes, will join Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner in a front three to face Spurs at Stamford Bridge (4.30pm).
Chelsea team v Spurs: Mendy; James, Thiago Silva, Zouma, Chilwell; Kovacic, Kante, Mount; Ziyech, Abraham, Werner. Subs: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Jorginho, Havertz, Pulisic, Giroud.
“Winner from the bench,” said @DiStarrEnu on Twitter, with @Kainespringss11 adding: “So no surprises here, just win please.”
@Koredews hailed a “strong line up”, while @CFCAli2_ tweeted: “That bench.”
@nalisamahmood agreed, posting: “Pulisic hattrick off the bench let’s gooo.”
