Roy Keane says Chelsea and Spurs pose bigger title threat to Liverpool than Man United

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has admitted that Tottenham and Chelsea pose a bigger threat to Liverpool’s Premier League title defence than his former club.

The Blues welcome Jose Mourinho ‘s side to Stamford Bridge on Sunday with both sides able to go top of the league with victory.

Ahead of United’s game at Southampton, Keane revealed his belief that the calibre of players available to both clubs will put them in good stead to maintain Premier League title challenges this season.

“At the moment, I think Chelsea have invested now, they’ve got a stronger squad,” Keane told Sky Sports. ” The goalkeeper was a big purchase for them.

“Spurs, obviously, have got Kane – a world-class striker and they’ve got a world-class manager.

“So, at this moment in time, you’d say they’re more capable at putting in some sort of title challenge than United are.”

His comments were echoed by fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp, who claimed that the difficulties faced by Manchester City and Liverpool this season will blow the title race wide open.
