Chelsea are interested in signing Cagliari centre-back Sebastian Walukiewicz, according to Corriere dello Sport (via the Mirror ).

With Thiago Silva being 36-years-old, he may not have too many days left in the top-flight, despite his strong form since arriving at the Blues.

Polish defender Walukiewicz – who is rated at £54m – has now emerged as a target for Lampard, and someone who could replace Silva.

However, Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on the 20-year-old, as well as Italian giants Inter Milan.

Rudiger has only featured once in the Premier League for the Blues this season and is once again being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is willing to let the German centre-back leave in January, and a loan deal with an option to buy is an option.

The 27-year-old spent a spell at Serie A side Roma before moving to the Premier League, and a move back to Italy could help him rekindle his form.
