Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are set discover their Champions League fate on Monday morning, with the last-16 draw due to take place out in Switzerland.
The Premier League have been left with just three representatives in Europe’s elite-level competition following Manchester United ’s group-stage exit last week.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were beaten 3-2 in their final Group H outing away at RB Leipzig, leaving them with a third-place finish and subsequent demotion to the Europa League.
Their English colleagues did not suffer the same fate; as Liverpool, Chelsea and City all reached the knockout stages as group winners and will therefore be one of eight seeded teams in the last-16 draw.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and PSG are the other five seeded sides, while Atletico Madrid, Borussia Monchengladbach, Porto, Atalanta, Sevilla, Lazio, Barcelona and RB Leipzig are the unseeded teams in the draw.
Teams are unable to draw an opponent from their own country or from their group in the first knockout round.
