One absence who flew under the radar a little tonight was Reece James. Reports had leaked at the weekend that the right back was hurt, and they were shown to be correct when he didn’t feature for the Blues at all tonight.
They won without him, but he’s been a key player this season and we need everybody fit for this crazy run of matches.
When asked about his player after the game, Frank Lampard gave the most non-committal answer possible – he hopes it’s not bad.

One feels that if it really looked serious for James, anything that might keep him out for a matter of weeks, then the manager would be compelled to say something about it.
On the other hand, he could just be keeping his cards close to his chest with Arsenal coming up at the weekend.
Cesar Azpilicueta proved tonight he’s still a top backup, and there’s no need to use James if he’s not right.
