Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool’s biggest Premier League title competition will come from Manchester.
The Reds legend says that Manchester City and Manchester United are the two teams most likely to make a run at the title.
United have turned their season around in recent weeks, bouncing back from early disappointment to win six out of their last seven games in the Premier League.
It has propelled them from the bottom half into the top three – and will only be two points behind Liverpool if they win their game in hand.
Their form have made Lawrenson consider United as genuine title contenders.

He also believes that City, despite their shaky form, remain one of the favourites for the title.
City are down in eighth place but will only be five points back if they win their game in hand.
“Along with Manchester City, United seem the most likely team to me to run Liverpool close,” Lawrenson told the BBC.
“After a slow start to the season, they have just started to get it together.

“United will be a threat to Liverpool, and Manchester City will be there or thereabouts too.
“They have got too much quality not to be.”
Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day for the third year running.
Since they lost Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to injury, they have not lost a league game.
Liverpool and United face off in a crunch game at Anfield on January 17.
Their second meeting this season comes at the start of May – and could be something of a title decider.
