Chelsea were outplayed by Manchester City on Sunday. They have now won just one of their last seven games in all competitions and are just three points clear of Arsenal.
The pressure is mounting on Frank Lampard, who is the benefactor of more than £200million in investment in the summer transfer window.
Lampard will be keen to further add to his squad, and the January transfer window represents an opportunity for Chelsea to both acquire greater talent and fine-tune the myriad of reserve players already on the books.
We have updates on two potential outgoings that would free up space in Chelsea’s wage bill and squad, as well as an update on one of the most hotly-linked Premier League stars.

Leeds most like Tomori landing spot
Fikayo Tomori has been strongly linked with a loan exit this month. The young defender has made just one league appearance so far this season thanks to the arrival of Thiago Silva and the improvement of Kurt Zouma.
Now 23, Tomori needs regular playing time to continue his development, and Lampard is reportedly keen for him to find this on loan. In December, Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go Podcast, via Simon Phillips, reported that Chelsea will look to loan out Tomori in January.
One potential landing spot is Leeds United, who have played Luke Ayling at centre-back in recent weeks as they deal with a raft of injuries at the position.
This week, BBC Sport named the Whites as Tomori’s most likely destination as Marcelo Bielsa seeks temporary cover for the extended absence of Robin Koch.
In mid-December, Football Insider also reported that Leeds were interested in a Tomori loan deal.
