Marina Granovskaia can repeat Chelsea transfer trick to land wonderkid winger

Chelsea are leading the race to sign highly-rated Lazio winger Raul Moro.

That is according to reports in Italy, which claim the Blues have their eye on the talented 18-year-old as they continue to look to build for the future.

The youngster, who started his career at Barcelona, but failed to make the grade from their academy, is attracting plenty of interest from across Europe, particularly from clubs in the Premier League, who are often looking to poach talent from abroad and bring them to England.

Moro joined Lazio in 2019 and made his senior debut for the club in July 2020, stepping off the bench as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Juventus.

So far, that cameo appearance against the Italian heavyweights has proven to be Moro’s only appearance in a Lazio shirt at first-team level, with the youngster having continued to learn the ropes at Primavera 1 level this season, which is the Italian youth league.

Although Moro has not been playing senior football this season, he has been impressing at youth-level, scoring eight goals in eight matches, as well as registering two assists.

Now, according to reports in Italy, Chelsea are looking into the prospect of signing the Spain Under-18 international this month.

Should Chelsea, who will be seeking a return to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend when they lock horns with Fulham at Craven Cottage, be successful in their hopes of landing Moro, it would be a similar-type transfer to the one the club completed for young central-defender Xavier Mbuyamba last summer.
