Chelsea decision too late for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsenal ace delivers Tuchel verdict

Thomas Tuchel is close to being installed as Chelsea’s new head coach following the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday morning.

Despite leading his side to a 3-1 victory over Championship side Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, it was not enough to save Lampard from being the latest victim of Roman Abramovich’s managerial axe, with the club having lost five of its last eight Premier League matches.

Lampard has left Chelsea with the club sat ninth in the table, four points shy of the top-four, with half of the season remaining.

Unlike other clubs, the Blues are keen to get Lampard’s position filled immediately, with former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain chief Tuchel poised to be announced as their new boss as soon as possible.
