Giroud, Mount and Kante: Latest Chelsea team news and injury updates prior to Wolves encounter

Chelsea begin the post-Frank Lampard era on Wednesday night when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

It will be the first game for the Blues since the dismissal of Lampard on Monday morning after an indifferent run of form.

The Blues ran out 3-1 winners over Luton Town on Sunday afternoon but it wasn’t enough to save the former England midfielder from his job.

Chelsea sit in ninth place in the league table having picked up 29 points from their 19 games so far. That has included just eight victories so fans will be hoping that figure improves significantly under the new manager.

Wolves will be no pushovers, though. They are also fresh from FA Cup success having beaten non-league Chorley 1-0 on Friday night.

Not many Chelsea players are struggling with injury but here is a round-up of those who have concerns going into the Wolves game.

N’Golo Kante

Kante has missed Chelsea’s last three games due to suspension and a hamstring injury.

The French World Cup-winner was not available for selection on Sunday against Luton Town and it will be touch and go for the Wolves match.
