Thomas Tuchel arrives at Cobham ahead of Chelsea appointment

Thomas Tuchel is at Cobham ahead of his appointment as the next Chelsea head coach.

The Blues have been working on a deal to make the former PSG boss Frank Lampard’s successor after making the decision to part ways with the latter on Monday and it’s expected Tuchel will be in charge for Chelsea’s clash with Wolves on Wednesday evening.

Lampard left the club after around 18 months in charge with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich deciding enough is enough after watching his side pick up just two wins in their last eight Premier League outings despite approving £220million worth of transfers during the summer.

It quickly became clear that former PSG and Borussia Dortmund boss Tuchel would become Chelsea’s next head coach and the German is all ready to be appointed.

But that is not the case for the German because he qualifies for one of the exceptions, namely being part of an ‘elite sports programme’ which will require him to be tested regularly anyway.
