Thomas Tuchel is already getting his feet under the table at Chelsea after being confirmed as the club’s new head coach this evening.
The former Borussia Dortmund and PSG boss was confirmed as Frank Lampard’s successor only just over 24 hours after the decision was made to part ways with the former Chelsea midfielder.
Tuchel arrives on an initial 18-month contract with the option of extending the deal and he is already getting comfortable after arriving at Chelsea’s Cobham base this evening.
Training was pushed back to 6pm to make sure Tuchel had chance to meet his players and put them through a training session ahead of the German’s first match in charge, on Wednesday night.

In what will be a whirlwind 24 hours for Tuchel, he will take to the touchline for the first time on Wednesday for his new side’s Premier League clash with Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
The former PSG boss will have little time to put his philosophy in place or to be convinced of a starting XI, but he will, at the very least, learn plenty about his new side with a game so soon after his arrival.
Chelsea have only won two of their last eight Premier League games and Tuchel will be desperate to turn that form around quickly to win over supporters, even if they are watching from afar.
But the first step towards that potentially difficult task was to meet the players and take the first training session, something Tuchel has now ticked off his to-do list.
