Chelsea transfer rumours: Thomas Tuchel’s number one target, forgotten man leaves

Chelsea are under new management following the sacking of Frank Lampard earlier this week, with Thomas Tuchel the man turned to.

The former Paris Saint-Germain squad inherits an expensive but talented squad, where he will be tasked to get the best out of the summer recruits that cost over £200m between them.

With little time remaining in the January transfer window, Tuchel is unlikely to complete any incoming business before the mid-season period slams shut.

However, that could change in the summer and the rumours suggest that the German already has his eyes on some additions.

Tuchel’s number one target

Thomas Tuchel has identified Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as his prime transfer target this summer, the Daily Mail states.

The 22-year-old has become one of the most sought-after stars in world football following his breakthrough with Red Bull Salzburg, continuing his immense upward curve in Germany.

Linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid, Tuchel is said to be keen to raid his former club to land the Norway international.

Baba Rahman exit

Sticking with the Daily Mail, it’s reported that forgotten Chelsea man Baba Rahman is set for another loan spell away from Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old has agreed to join Greek side POAK until the end of the season – his third loan in three seasons, having previously spent time with Schalke, Stade Reims and RCD Mallorca.

Rahman signed for the club in 2015 but failed to make an impact in west London and has been an outcast throughout recent seasons.
