Furious Chelsea fans have launched a protest over the situation at their club following the sacking of Frank Lampard.

The club legend was shown the door on Monday following a run of poor results with former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel replacing Lampard.

Roman Abramovich made the call to sack Lampard just 18 months after welcoming the former midfielder back to Stamford Bridge.

Many believe Abramovich and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia should have given Lampard more time, though the call was made following a summer where £200m was spent.

And Blues fans have shown their disgust at the decision, unfurling a banner that read ‘Circus continues’ at Stamford Bridge.

Blue flares have also been let off ahead of Tuchel’s first game in charge against Wolves on Wednesday night.

Explaining the decision to sack Lampard, Abramovich said: “This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him.

“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers.
