All eyes will be on 5pm on Wednesday evening when Thomas Tuchel’s first Chelsea starting lineup will be announced to the expectant Blues fans.
The German was officially announced as the team’s new head coach on Tuesday evening and went straight into a training session with his new players at 6pm that day as he started his Chelsea adventure.
Tuchel has inherited a talented but devoid of confidence Chelsea squad that has lost five of their last eight Premier League matches and has left them 11 points off the pace in the top flight with Manchester United leading the way.
It’ll be up to Tuchel to pick the Blues players up off the floor and get pushed back towards the Champions League places having asked Frank Lampard after the poor run of results.
As there has been no press conference there has been no injury updates from the new manager. The only doubt heading into the match is over N’Golo Kante, who has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury but the French midfielder is back in training.

He will have some selection decisions to make at centre half, where Antonio Rudiger had been brought in from the cold by Lampard for the last two matches to replace Kurt Zouma. Tuchel also has Thjiago Silva and Andreas Christensen to pick from in that position.
In the final third, Timo Werner will be hoping for a change of fortune with a new manager in place having netted just once in his last 16 games. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, who was managed by Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund, are all vying for spots as well.
The likes of Jorginho, Billy Gilmour, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic will all be clamouring for a spot in Tuchel’s midfield as well.
So the manager has a lot on his plate and not a lot of time to prepare. But with that in mind, here is our attempt at predicting what the German manager might do…
