Thomas Tuchel has revealed Frank Lampard got in touch to wish him good luck after replacing him as Chelsea head coach earlier this week.
Lampard was sacked by the Blues on Monday amid a nightmare run of five defeats in eight Premier League matches, which left them languishing in ninth place.
Almost 24 hours later Tuchel replaced him in the hot-seat, taking the Stamford Bridge reins on an initial 18-month contract.
And following his first game as head coach on Wednesday night, which saw him held to a 0-0 draw with Wolves, the German has revealed Lampard sent him a message to wish him all the best at Chelsea.

“I have the biggest respect for him personally and his legacy,” Tuchel said at his first official Blues press conference.
“It just got bigger when I received a message today in the morning; a personal message to wish me all the best and maybe meet in the future when this is possible.
“Honestly, nothing has changed there but in the last 72 hours the club made clear to me this is not my fault.

“I cannot change the situation for him, the decision was made and I was handed the opportunity.”
Tuchel was denied an opening victory as Chelsea boss on Wednesday night, despite his side breaking two Premier League records in their stalemate with Wolves.
The Blues registered the highest amount of possession (78.9 per cent) and most passes (820) ever seen in a new manager’s first match.
And the sacked boss has already been in touch with Tuchel, who replaced him a day later, to wish him all the best
