Pulisic, Ziyech and Chilwell: Latest Chelsea team news and expected return dates

Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge at Chelsea ended in a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss, appointed on Tuesday after Frank Lampard’s sacking, was in the dugout for the Wednesday clash after taking charge of one training session with his new side.

But despite having 79% possession and 14 shots on goal, only five were on target and the Blues struggled to breakdown the resolute visitors.

Chelsea have just one win in six Premier League games and are five points behind fifth-placed West Ham.

But one plus is that Tuchel has a near fully fit squad to choose from going forward.

So here is a round-up of their injury concerns at present.

N’Golo Kante

Kante has missed Chelsea’s last three games due to suspension and a hamstring injury.

The French World Cup-winner was not available for selection on Sunday against Luton Town and missed the Wolves game, too.

Ahead of the FA Cup game, Lampard said he “hoped to have N’Golo back by next week”.

Kante returned to training on Thursday, but it looks unlikely that he will be straight back into the starting line up for the home clash against Sean Dyche’s side on Sunday afternoon.

Mason Mount

The 22-year-old was made captain for the clash with Luton at the weekend, but against Wolves he had to make do with a place on the bench.

He replaced Hakim Ziyech in the 83rd minute.

The midfielder will hope this is not a sign of things to come under Tuchel.

Christian Pulisic

Pulisic was substituted after 70 minutes against Luton Town just moments after taking a knock to his leg.
