Chelsea press conference live: Thomas Tuchel on his first win and Hudson-Odoi’s good form

Hello and welcome to live coverage of Thomas Tuchel’s post-match press conference after Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League.

The Blues boss shuffled his pack from the draw with Wolves in midweek with Marcos Alonso, Mason Mount, Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham all coming into the starting lineup.

It was a frustrating first 45 minutes for the Blues as they fashioned plenty of shooting opportunities but spurned almost the lot, Mason Mount guilty as he fired over three times.

Werner should have done better from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross ut scuffed his effort inside the box.

The Tuchel era finally had lift off four minutes before the break when Cesar Azpiliceuta, of all people, rifled home into the top corner after a brave overlapping run from centre half, Hudson-Odoi fed the skipper to smash home.

Tuchel made a change at the break, introducing Christian Pulisic for the ineffective Tammy Abraham.

Hudson-Odoi had another excellent game and almost doubled the advantage midway through the second half but saw his shot deflected onto the post. Pope also palmed clear substitute Reece James’ effort as well.

The three points were sealed late on when Alonso, who else, steered home expertly from a tight angle as Burnley could hold out no more.

Burnley didn’t have a shot on goal until the 94th minute of the game as Tuchel picked up his first win since taking over from Frank Lampard earlier this week.
