Ask most Chelsea fans who the best player over their last two games has been, and most will say Callum Hudson-Odoi. The youngster came straight into Thomas Tuchel’s plans, and has looked great in both starts.
The stats back up the impression that the 20 year old is having a good season in the Premier League. FBRef have Tammy Abraham down as Chelsea’s best goal plus assist per 90 minutes player – with 0.66 goals or assists per game.
Callum is now up to 0.62. Considering that playing as a striker gives a player an advantage in this – CHO has been a wing back for the last two games, with a lot more defending to do that Tammy, it’s a great stat.
If Tuchel can continue to get the best out of him, we can see the kind of actual statistical production we know he’s capable of. He’s got five goals and 4 assists in all competitions – 2 each in the Premier League. If he can keep pushing that upwards, we might really be talking about a serious player.
