Borussia Dortmund are already planning for Erling Haaland exit as Chelsea plot summer transfer

With the January transfer window now behind us, attention immediately turns to the summer and what business clubs will do then.

For Chelsea, who spent more than £200million in the summer, January was a quiet month in terms of incomings, with no new signings arriving at Stamford Bridge.

There was a change in manager, however, with Thomas Tuchel replacing the sacked Frank Lampard at the helm.

Among the many issues Tuchel has been asked to solve has been to get the best out of their young German talent, having spent big on Kai Havertz and Timo Werner in the summer.

Given his links to Germany, Tuchel has been tipped to raid the Bundesliga when the transfer window reopens in the summer, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Dayot Upamecano and Achraf Hakimi all linked.

Haaland is understood to be Tuchel and Chelsea ‘s number one priority in the summer window and it’s easy to see why.

The Norwegian frontman has 38 goals in 39 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since signing for the in January 2020. He is a goal machine and there is plenty of interest in him already, with a £68million release clause due to come into effect in 2022.

Dortmund may well look to cash in on him this summer, with more than £100million mooted before that clause comes into effect.

And the German side are already making plans for life without their big hitman it seems.
