Tuchel has been brave in his team selection since coming to the club, and while he his still working out his new side, he has not been afraid to go in a different direction to his predecessor Frank Lampard.

And one of the biggest adjustments has been to bring Marcos Alonso back in from the cold.

The Spaniard, who was pivotal to Chelsea under Antonio Conte, made just three appearances under Lampard, all of which came in the first three Premier League games of the season.

But he was handed a start under Tuchel last time out, in the win over Burnley, returning to his favoured wing-back role with the German boss later saying: “I know Marcos is used to playing this role, on the left side all alone and he has a good timing for arriving in the box.

“In the end we are very happy he could score the second goal to finish the game.
