The staggering figures that proves Chelsea were right to make Eden Hazard transfer decision

Chelsea might just have played a blinder with Eden Hazard.

Hazard left the Blues after around seven years in 2019, joining Real Madrid for a fee of around £103.5million, rising to just over £140milion when other costs are accounted for.

But things haven’t exactly gone to plan for the Belgian superstar since his ‘dream move’ to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hazard has scored just four times since his move to the Spanish capital which means Real Madrid have paid around £25.87million per goal so far – solely based on transfer fee – and that’s not the only statistic that will have Los Blancos feeling pretty hard done by.

The 30-year-old has just been ruled out for a few weeks with another muscular injury, his third of the type this season.

And between the two muscle injuries he has already suffered and the seven games he is due to miss this time around, he will have missed a total of 21 games this season.

It’s nothing new, either. Since his Real Madrid arrival, the forward has played in just 30.5% of the minutes played by his team during that time, as researched by Mundo Deportivo.

Hazard has played in 44.3% of games but has only played a full 90 minutes in 5.1% of those games. That means he has cost Real Madrid just under £3million per game.
