Thomas Tuchel agrees with Jose Mourinho’s assertion that coaching in the Premier League with Chelsea is not comparable to working at Paris Saint-Germain, but insists neither job is better than the other.
The German spent two-and-a-half years in the French capital during which he twice won the Ligue 1 title, twice claimed the Trophee des Champions, and lifted the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.
Tuchel also guided PSG to last season’s Champions League final, where they were defeated by Bayern Munich, but four months later was sacked with the club third in the league table.
The 47-year-old wasn’t out of work long, however. Less than a month after his departure from PSG was confirmed, he was named Chelsea’s head coach.

Given Mourinho’s status at Stamford Bridge, he was inevitability asked what he thought Tuchel’s appointment and what the expectations would be on former PSG boss.
The Portuguese delivered an answer in his own unconventional style: “You can’t compare the job at Paris Saint‑Germain with the job in the Premier League,” he said. “It is not possible to compare.”
Tuchel and Mourinho will go head-to-head for the first time when Chelsea make the short trip to take on Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening. And ahead of the contest, the Blues head coach was asked whether he agreed with Mourinho’s comments.
“I absolutely agree,” he said. “It is totally different. It’s a totally different culture. It’s a different attitude. It’s a different way to play. It’s different and it’s a pleasure every day.”
Tuchel continued: “I want to make this very clear: for me, there is no better and no worse. For me, it’s just very, very different.
