Blues receive Haaland boost
Chelsea’s hopes of pulling off a big-money move for Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland this summer may have been handed an encouraging boost.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the Norway international in recent weeks, with newly-appointed head coach Thomas Tuchel reported to have pinpointed him as his top priority ahead of the next transfer window opening.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, who face Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening, Haaland’s £68million release clause does not come active until the summer of 2022.

With that in mind, any club who is wishing to try and lure Haaland away from the Bundesliga giants this summer is going to, most likely, have to pay north of £100million. However, Dortmund have already completed the signing of highly-rated striker Julian Rijkhoff from Ajax, suggesting they could be already putting plans in place for life without the Leeds-born striker.

Tuchel can build dream line-up with £200m spending spree
After a quiet January transfer window, Chelsea are expected to loosen the purse strings once again this summer and try and add more world class talents to their ranks in an attempt to turn themselves back into genuine title contenders.
As outlined above, Tuchel is very keen on signing Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to bolster his attacking options, but he is also keen on strengthening the Blues’ defensive line.
According to reports, both Inter Milan wing-back Achraf Hakimi and Niklas Sule of Bayern Munich are on Chelsea’s radar, meaning Marina Granovskaia could be busy when it comes to building another new-look team at Stamford Bridge this summer.
