Stats show Chelsea are the most in-form team in the Premier League since Tuchel arrived » Chelsea News

Perhaps not coincidentally, Chelsea chose a great moment to sack Frank Lampard. The club had just ended it’s most difficult period of the season, both in terms of fixtures and results; and were about to head into this softer period.

Thomas Tuchel has taken full advantage of playing some of the weaker teams, and he’s well and truly hit the ground running. The players look energised again, and they’ve had the best form in the league.

The stats that Sky Sports highlighted after the game showed just how huge the transformation has been:

Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel’s first @premierleague game:

𝗙𝗲𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 shots on target faced per game

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 touches in box per game

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 points in @premierleague

10 points from 4 games

The team are not conceding too many shots, they’re getting the ball forward, and in a time when their rivals are struggling, they’re impressing.

Of course the real test will be when we take on tougher teams, but this is better than we could have expected for the little time the new man has been in charge, and it’s exciting to think where we could be in a month or so – let alone next season
