Hakim Ziyech and the other Chelsea stars with points to prove to Thomas Tuchel against Barnsley

There should be several changes made to the Chelsea side for tomorrow’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Barnsley. And if you don’t want to take our word on that, here’s Thomas Tuchel.

“There is a high possibility we see a lot of changes,” the Blues head coach said in his pre-match press conference.

“First of all, everybody who is on the pitch tomorrow deserves to be on the pitch. So there will be guys tomorrow who suffered a little bit from my decisions in the last few games.

“And for us, it’s the third away match in a row. We don’t want to lose attention, awareness, and intensity in our game.

“So this is the moment for us to have fresh legs and fresh minds on the pitch, and to have the full intensity needed to secure this win. This is what we aim for.”

The contest at Oakwell will be one of opportunity for several Chelsea players. The Blues’ gruelling schedule has given Tuchel – who took charge of four games in his opening 12 days at the helm – little time to thoroughly evaluate the entirety of his squad.

He’s had to gather information while also trying to secure Premier League points. As a result, certain members of the Chelsea first-team squad have been overlooked.

Several of these players have, in Tuchel’s own words, suffered through no fault of their own.

So if and when they take to the pitch at Barnsley tomorrow evening, they will want to make a point to the German coach that they deserve a greater role in the side going forward.

And here are five Chelsea stars with a point to prove.
