“Ball watching and vibes” – These Chelsea fans lose it over Zouma’s low effort play » Chelsea News

Kurt Zouma can consider himself very unlucky to not have played more under Thomas Tuchel.

He was one of our best players in the first part of the season under Frank Lampard, but he’s not been picked in the first team as often under Tuchel.

His performance today won’t have done much to change that. Given the chance to start in the middle of defence, Zouma was terribly caught out by a pass behind him. He turned slowly, and then appeared to jog back rather than breaking his neck to atone for his error.

Chelsea fans on social media were absolutely fuming – more about the lack of effort than the mistake – and we can imagine Tuchel is going to be livid too.

One Tweeter called his defending “ball watching and vibes,” and that’s not far off the truth.

You can see a selection of their reactions in the Tweets embedded here:

And like with the bad back pass against the same opposition in the home game, didn’t sprint back to make up for the mistake.

What does Zouma think he’s doing here? After the balls played through, jogging back, if he actually put an ounce of effort in there’s a chance he can stop it, lazy.
