Kepa Arrizabalaga outlines Atletico Madrid danger for Chelsea ahead of Champions League clash

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has told his Chelsea teammates they must ‘cut out’ Luis Suarez this evening.

The Blues face Atletico in Romania this evening in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg, and they have their work cut out with Diego Simeone’s men currently three points clear and with a game in hand at the top of La Liga.

Chelsea aren’t doing so badly themselves, seven unbeaten after a Premier League draw with Southampton last time out, though that result will have been seen as a setback ahead of their return to the Champions League.

And Atletico will provide quite the litmus test for Thomas Tuchel after his fine start at Stamford Bridge, Los Rojiblancos carving themselves out as the best La Liga has to offer so far this season.

A key part of their form has been former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, who is the joint-top scorer in La Liga with 16 goals so far this season, alongside Lionel Messi.

The veteran frontman has been devastating since his free transfer from Barcelona in the summer, and he is now preparing to face an old foe in Chelsea.

Ahead of that game, Chelsea goalkeeper Arrizabalaga has warned his teammates they must fine a way to stop the Uruguayan frontman.

“Luis Suarez has had many years scoring goals, many years creating danger for Liverpool, Barca, Ajax, Atletico Madrid,” said the goalkeeper on radio show COPE.

“He is a player we have to try to cut out.”
