Chelsea star N’Golo Kante makes huge Thomas Tuchel transfer admission

Chelsea midfield enforcer N’Golo Kante has revealed that he turned his nose up at the opportunity to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain whilst Thomas Tuchel was in charge in the French capital.

Kante has been one of the world’s best defensive midfielders in recent years, going from strength to strength ever since arriving in England, initially with Leicester City in 2015, before joining Chelsea a year later.

Kante played a key role in the Blues’ Premier League title crown in 2016/17 under Antonio Conte and was soon the subject of interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs.

One of those was PSG, who under the stewardship of Tuchel at the time.

Following his first game in charge of Chelsea in January, Tuchel admitted after the match that he had previously tried to sign Kante in the hope of working with him.

“I fought many years to have N’Golo Kante in my team and now I have him here, also Olivier Giroud, we have a clear picture,” Tuchel said.

Now, Kante, who has started Chelsea’s last two Premier League outings, has admitted that he knew of PSG’s interest in signing him, but it was not a move that he was interested in making.

“I knew in the past there was some contact with Paris Saint-Germain when he was the manager, but it was not something I wanted,” Kante said, as quoted by the Metro. “It did not happen because I was happy at Chelsea and I stayed here.
