The big match this midweek takes place at Anfield.
Stuttering Liverpool welcome a Chelsea side as yet unbeaten under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Both teams are just outside the top four, aiming to force their way into the Champions League mix with three points at Anfield – the winning team knowing they will end the night inside those top four places.
Liverpool’s defence of their Premier League crown has been a disaster thus far. After cantering to the title last year, the Reds have lost seven times this season and sit sixth in the table heading into Thursday night’s clash with the Blues.

But, there have been mitigating circumstances.
The Reds have suffered with a crippling injury list, losing both first choice centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to long-term injuries, while the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota have all also been struck down at various times too.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel for manager Jurgen Klopp, however, and Chelsea may feel a bit more of a stronger force when it comes to facing off against the home side.
Klopp is set to welcome back three key players for the clash with Chelsea.
Goalkeeper Alisson, midfielder Fabinho and frontman Jota were all pictured back in training with the Reds on Tuesday, preparing for the visit of Tuchel’s side.
Alisson missed out against Sheffield United having been granted compassionate leave after the death of his father, but he looks set to return to the starting lineup in place of Adrian.
