Michael Owen has hailed Phil Foden and Mason Mount after their starring performances in this week’s Champions League semi-finals.
Foden has become one of Pep Guardiola’s key players at Manchester City and played a leading role as they defeated PSG on Tuesday night.
As well as hitting the post, the midfielder also provided the assist for Riyad Mahrez’s second goal as Guardiola’s side reached the Champions League final for the first time.
Mount meanwhile has continued to impress at Chelsea since breaking into the side under Frank Lampard last season and scored the Blues’ second goal against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The two Englishmen have also impressed in the Premier League this season, scoring 13 goals and notching 11 assists combined.
Aside from Harry Kane, they have been two of the best performing English players in the top-flight this term.
As a result, there have been ever-increasing calls for Gareth Southgate to play them together for the national team.
Mount is already a regular under Southgate, though Foden has only just broken into the side despite his obvious talent.

Despite their impressive seasons, Owen believes there is still much more to come from the two England stars.
In fact, Owen has gone as far as to say that they could be the best players England has ever produced.
“So exciting for the summer with England of course. I think Mason Mount, and Phil Foden for that matter, could be two of the best players in the world in the future,” Owen told BT Sport.
“I think they are that good. It’s so exciting to watch their progress. I think, honestly, they are going to get there.
