Kovacic, Christensen, Mendy – Chelsea team news and injury updates ahead of Leicester City clash

Chelsea are back in Premier League action tonight when they will be looking to get over the heartbreak of losing in the FA Cup final.

And what better way to get over that disappointment by beating the team that inflicted it with Chelsea once again facing Leicester City this evening, this time at Stamford Bridge.

But it’s not just about revenge with Chelsea and the Foxes in the midst of a battle with Liverpool to finish inside the top four.

With Liverpool one point behind the Blues and Leicester two points ahead, this penultimate game could well prove key in deciding which two of the three head into the Champions League next season.

And ahead of the game, we have got the latest injury news concerning Thomas Tuchel ‘s men from the man himself.

Chelsea only had two injury concerns heading into the FA Cup final over the weekend with Andreas Christensen and Mateo Kovacic missing out despite returning to training ahead of the game.

Both players didn’t quite make it back in time, but the pair look set to return ahead of this one, at the cost of two of their teammates.

“When Kova [Mateo Kovacic] and Andreas Christensen, maybe, come back into the squad, I need to figure out the squad and maybe eliminate two more players,” said Tuchel in his pre-match press conference.
