Mason Mount has been named as Chelsea’s men’s player of the year for 2020/2021.
The midfielder has just been given the award on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, where there are fans present for the first time in months.
It’s a well deserved – and much expected – prize for the academy product, who was outstanding all year under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.

He’s had a quiet period in the last few games, but has basically been the main driving force of the team in attack and defence for large periods of the campaign.
He’s also played a phenomenal amount of minutes over the course of the year, just as he did the season before. There’s no doubt that he’s been absolutely brilliant this season, and we expect him to carry on in the same vein next time out.
Congratulations Mason! Now go out there and get us into the Champions League for next season.
