Man City dealt huge potential injury blow ahead of Chelsea clash as star ‘limps’ out of training

Manchester City have been dealt a potentially huge injury blow on the eve of their Champions League final with Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s men are looking to win their club’s first-ever Champions League title on Saturday night when they face Premier League rivals Chelsea in Porto.

He tweeted: “Gundogan leaves training limping! It appears to be a muscle problem in the thigh.”

Gundogan had been many people’s nomination for Premier League player of the year having played such a huge role in Manchester City’s title success.

His absence would be a monumental loss for Guardiola, particularly this late in the day, potentially offering Chelsea a boost in the process.

Just whether Gundogan can shake off the injury in time remains to be seen, but we are now very close to the final, and the fact that it appeared to be a muscular injury will be of real concern for City.
